Carola Wenk, Ph.D.
Carola is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tulane University’s School of Science of Engineering. Carola’s research interests include Algorithms and Data Structures, Discrete Mathematics, Geospatial Data Analysis, Computational Biology and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Ricardo Cortez, Ph.D.
Ricardo is the Pendergraft William Larkin Duren Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Tulane University’s School of Science of Engineering. Ricardo’s research interests include Computational Fluid Dynamics, Numerical Methods and Scientific Computing, Biological Fluid Flow Applications.

Chief Technology Officer
Charlie is the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Technology Officer at Tulane University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from LSU. Charlie served as the executive director of the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI) until 2009. Charlie has previously served on Boards of National LambdaRail (NLR) and Internet2 (I2). He currently serves as a trustee for Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA) and is a Technology Adviser for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Assistant Vice President for Information Technology &
Leo Tran is Assistant Vice President for Information Technology & Deputy CTO at Tulane University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Loyola University and a Masters of Science in Applied Mathematics from Tulane University. He holds key security certifications, including a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager). He is a member of FBI InfraGard, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and Computer Security Institute (CSI).
