The Science DMZ
Dedicated High-Speed Science Network for the Tulane Research CommunityConnecting Tulane to the Community-at-Large
Through the Science DMZ initiative a dedicated high-speed science network with two types of 40 Gbps connections is being created. One connection type will begin deep within the campuses, initiated by specific scientific and engineering applications. Data from the application will be transported intra-campus at 40 Gbps via existing fiber, providing for the best end-to-end user performance experience possible. The second connection type will create 40 Gbps circuits from this network to Tulane resources through our border router. Tulane reaches LONI and National resources using the existing 20 Gbps connection, addressing the growing demand for bandwidth in data-intensive research.
